Bonnie Tyler (born Gaynor Hopkins on June 8, 1951 in Skewen, Neath, Wales) is a Welsh singer. She is probably best known for her hits in the 1970s and 1980s, including "It's a Heartache", "Holding Out for a Hero" and "Total Eclipse of the Heart". Born into a large working-class family of six children, Tyler's father worked as a miner while her mother, an opera fan, shared her love of music with her children.
